The Shark Catfish is also known as the Colombian Shark Catfish and Blackfin Catfish. As a Juvenile it requires brackish water conditions, however as an adult it is a saltwater species.

Being able to care for this species as both a juvenile and an adult should be considered before purchase. They are a very active fish and require a large tank.

The shark catfish has venomous dorsal spines which can cause painful wounds, care should be taken when cleaning the tank.
