The Bristlenose Pleco is a great addition to a community freshwater tropical tank. They are bottom dwellers and spend their time eating algae from the sides and bottom of the tank so provide a very useful cleaning function.

The picture above shows a juvenile pleco, its bristles only appear once the pleco is mature.
