The Red Rainbow Fish is only found in Lake Sentani in Jayapura, West Papua which is a province of Indonesia. They are also known as Salmon Red Rainbowfish due their coloring and Irian Jaya Rainbowfish.. Up until 2007 the region of West Papua was known as West Irian Jaya.
